Technical Service and Sales Representative - Industrial Coatings at PPG Industries in Elverson, PA
As a Technical Service and Sales Representative, you will ensure Industrial Coatings - Laurel Products, Polymer Systems, and Legacy Whitford Coatings customer satisfaction by providing technical service and assume primary account responsibility from a sales standpoint by providing related support to maintain and expand business at existing accounts. Key Responsibilities Manage a territory which includes direct contact with leaders and decision makers at the organizations which include Plant Managers, Quality Assurance Managers, Paint Engineers, Paint Managers, and Maintenance Managers Responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining, executing and enhancing test and product qualification plans at customer locations to ensure compliance with system specifications. Serve as a technical expert for issues related to fluoropolymer coatings, adhesives, and fluoroadditive systems. Meet with customers to troubleshoot and problem solve system issues, product defects, and determine root cause. Train and advise customers on how to properly use PPG products Effectively lead and supervise product launches, trials, which includes organizing teams and communicating with several internal departments Support company initiatives such as Complexity Reduction, Monetization of Value, and Selling Machine Work with the Quality Team to determine root cause of defects and help implement solutions. Function as primary liaison with Product Stewardship support team. Qualifications Associate Degree or Bachelor Degree in a Technical Field, preferably Chemistry, or equivalent experience. Minimum of 3 years Technical (R&D, Quality, Product Development, etc) experience with various industrial coating technologies including fluoropolymer, electrocoat E-coat, powder, and liquid paint systems. Fundamental understanding of adhesive technology platforms such as epoxies and urethanes. Willingness to travel 35% or more in support of identified markets of responsibility Strong digital literacy, analytical abilities, attention to detail, and technical report writing are required.
